Lieutenant Blake and I joined up with some members of nobody’s heroes tonight to investigate some recent activity by the 5th Column. heroes Moredin and Megadeth had shut down a few weapons warehouses the night before, and they had hooked up with teammate The Blue Porcupine to follow through on some loose ends.

Lt. Blake, Megadeth, Moredin and The Blue Porcupine take on the 5th Column in Steel Canyon.

The 5th Column were showing a strong force in Steel Canyon, urged on by recent successes in importing weapons and technological advancements by their own scientists. Because of the recent raids by nobody’s heroes, the Column were prepared for us, and ambushed us on many occasions. While many times we were victorious, then sent all of us to the hospital to mend our wounds and regroup just as often.

At one point we believed we had them on the run, but an untimely turf war between members of the Outcasts and Tsoo spilled into our fray, and it was us who had to flee for safety.

By the end of the night, I hoped the heroes had managed to put a noticeable dent in the 5th Column’s operations, but as we surrendered ground to the constant barrage, the soldiers closed ranks and took ever inch we gave them. And from my shelter hiding from another spray of bullets and flame, I wondered how it is that an organization such as this keeps its numbers. With the prisons overflowing we their members, many actually remaining behind bars, the Column is like a hydra, with two new heads for each one removed. Replacing the captured with fresh blood, lured with promises of power.

As we gave up our last inch of ground and retreated to the safety of the police drones, it became painfully clear, the 5th Column is here to stay unless we, the citizens of Paragon City, can find some way to thwart their recruitment efforts.
